The wordsmith skill of politicians has impressed me no end. Note the hidden agenda in the following words:
"Neither I nor my staff were told by any person, any person, that Mr Orkopoulos was under investigation for any offence prior to the Government being informed by the police." (NSW Premier)
What's he actually denying?
Is he denying that anyone knew about the heinous acts of the former MP?
No.
Is he saying that no one turned a blind eye to the molestation of young victims?
No.
In his vehement and passionate denial, he's very cleverly reduced the game to one issue: nobody told him that the police were investigating the issue before the police told him they were investigating the issue.
That's a nothing phrase, isn't it?

Oh, but at least he was telling the truth right?! As usual its what he left out that's important. I guess it wouldn't do for the State Premier to end up with a subpoena...
