How Young is too young?

Book trailers seem to be all the rage at the moment. I came across one that intrigued me, though.

There's a book out called "Young and in Love", which talks about encouraging young people to marry earlier, rather than put off marriage and get themselves in trouble.

Is putting off marriage a thing of the past? Is it foolish to encourage young people to "date but wait"? Or is it better to leave them to "experience life a little" before getting hitched?

What do you think?

The World is (Probably) not going to end today

The world is not permanent, as much as we would like it to be. But we should be wary of people who claim that a particular day (like May 21st) is The Day.

Jesus knew there were people who wanted to know a Definite Day, so he said this:

"Watch out; don't be fooled. Many men, claiming to speak for me, will come and say, I am he! and, The time has come! But don't follow them. Don't be afraid when you hear of wars and revolutions; such things must happen first, but they do not mean that the end is near." (Luke 21:8-9)

The end will be near one day, but it won't be the day a cult leader determines. Only God will do that...

For another good post on this, check out Sheridan Voysey's blog.

Edit: There's a great quote from Eric Landry on Justin Taylor's blog, about how we need to deal with this on Sunday and afterwards...

Guesting on other blogs...

Hans Kristensen is the pastor of Resolved church in Sydney. He has a blog called Learning in the Grip of Grace. He's been doing a guest series of what the gospel means for women at various stages of life, and asked me to do a blog on the gospel for me as a wife and young mother.

You can read it here.

Whew! That was a long gap!

Hello....?

Anyone there ...???

Probably not. I don't blame you at all. It's been quite some time since I bothered with this blog.

Why? There are several reasons:

1. I had a third baby. 'nuff said.
2. I became a published author. Not of any enormous novel or anything, but I've been working on some bible study/devotions books for senior high schoolers with hubby. This is the result: Busy Girls' / Blokes' Survival Guides.
3. There were a lot of other reasons, but no need to go into them here.

I can't promise that I'll be enormously regular again, but I'm willing to give it a go. What do you think?
