The Answers...

Here be the solutions to the book meme. Megan was correct with all her guesses, by the way...

1. Brothers, we are not Professionals, by John Piper. I was a little miffed that he specifically limited the address of his book to the "blokes in charge", but undeterred by this slight, I still found much that was very helpful for a practical ministry.

2. The Cross of Christ, by John Stott. An oldie but a goodie.

3. In Understanding Be Men, by TC Hammond. A good little theology introduction, even if some of the phraseology is "quaint" by contemporary standards.

4. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, by CS Lewis.

5. Twilight, by Stephenie Meyer.

6. A Room with a View, by EM Forster

7. A Fraction of the Whole, by Steve Tolz. This book was shortlisted for the 2008 Booker Prize.

8. The Handmaid's Tale, by Margaret Atwood. Atwood has been a frequent winner of the Booker, although this particular work didn't win. It did, however win the Arthur C Clarke prize for science fiction.

9. John Newton, from disgrace to Amazing Grace, by Jonathan Aitken. John Newton's story is a fascinating one, and the effect he had on many social changes is inspiring.

10. In Cold Blood, by Truman Capote. It's a fascinating insight into midwestern society in the mid twentieth century, and a good example of "There's nothing new under the sun". Capote has a highly readable style, too.

So there you go!

I'm tagging Michelle, Andrew and Cecily for this one.

Did you have to tag me?! I don't read enough books at the moment. Sorry, but I think I'll sit this one out. : )
