Amazing Grace

Last night we travelled down to the Entertainment Centre in Sydney for an interesting event. I was interested to note that some of the attendees included the Dean of Sydney Cathedral, and a couple of Anglican Bishops (who may have been somewhat uncomfortable with some of the discussion there, too!). The talk was humourous, and there were a number of people who stood up at the end to express their commitment to the real Jesus, not Religious Jesus, or Moral Jesus, but the real Jesus of the New Testament.

For me, one of the highlights though was when the crowd of 10 000 sang Amazing Grace and In Christ Alone. It was awesome standing in the midst of such a large gathering all singing praises to our Creator. It brought to mind Revelation 7:9-17

After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. 10 And they cried out in a loud voice:

“Salvation belongs to our God,
who sits on the throne,
and to the Lamb.”

A host of people praising God. It was nothing compared to what we have to look forward to.

Amen. Come Lord Jesus!
