With a small son, I can relate. We now have roughly half of the small paperback books available as well as a large collection of Take Along Thomas (thanks, Nan!), so my memory is tested on a regular basis.
I've got most of them down. It's the add-ins like Rusty and Skarloey that get me a little confused.
...Oh, and the non-train vehicles like Jack. Even my son gets them confused with Bob the Builder.

My son seems to have them all memorised, though how this happened has been a mystery - he just suddenly seemed to know them and we didnt own any thomas books or dvds.....
I wonder what Reverend Awdrey (was that his name?)would think of his beloved creation's evolution.
Thomas has heaps more friends now than when we were kids (so you can collect more - trains that is for kids, dollars that is for the manufacturer!).
Definitely. Apparently he had conniptions at the thought of female engines, so things have certainly gone far beyond his original concept! (I think he also would have been a little worried about Lady coming from a "Magical mountain" or something - it's all written on the collector's card...)
